About Super Nova
I’m Lektso, professionally known as Nova, a London-based cinematographer, gaffer and filmmaker. I completed my MA in Cinematography at Goldsmiths, University of London, after gaining a BA in Digital Film Production from Ravensbourne. Before coming to the UK, I also studied film directing and psychology in India, which continues to influence how I understand characters, emotions and visual storytelling.
My journey into filmmaking has been shaped by both personal experience and professional growth. I arrived in the UK as a refugee in 2016, carrying with me a life shaped by different cultures, places and challenges. Cinema became a way for me to understand those experiences and transform them into stories that can connect with others.
My work includes projects for Netflix, Chelsea Football Club, NARS Cosmetics, Finlays and Centrepoint, alongside independent narrative and commercial productions. I was Director of Photography on Romchyk, which screened at the Vatican’s International Summit on Children’s Rights and won at the Cambria Film Festival. I also worked as gaffer on Glass House, which received awards for Best Cinematography and Best Director at the LA Film Festival.
I’m interested in creating images that feel honest, atmospheric and emotionally connected to the story. For me, cinematography is not only about making something look beautiful—it is about understanding what the story needs and finding the right visual language for it.
I believe the strongest work comes through collaboration. I’m always open to meeting new filmmakers, exploring different approaches and creating films that stay with people beyond the screen.
